Eight teams came to compete at the fourth PBR Bull Team Challenge event of the season. Held during the Built Ford Tough Series Ty Murray Invitational, it was a competition deep in talent. With 10 of the team bulls (and 31 BFTS bulls) earning scores of 45 or better, it was going to take a big team score to win. Not surprisingly, it was Chad Berger’s Mandan Mafia that got the job done for their second win of the season. The third-place Team Creek County Connection had all of their bulls buck in the championship round, earning a 134.5. Comprised of Page bulls Jacob’s Pet (42.75), Show Time (46.26) and Commotion (45.5), the Connection just missed connecting with some prize money. A quarter point behind in fourth was Circle T Ranch. Rowdy Houdlum earned a 45.25 while their other two team members, Grey Dog and Ft. Worth, each earned a 44.5. Lone Star Bulls earned a 133.75 to split fifth with Team King-Herrington. Lone Star’s Avalanche was 44.75, Big Iron was 44 and Nasty Mike was 45. Team King-Herrington added up to 133.75 with Spotlight (44), Buckeye (45.5) and Aftermath (44.25). Murphy Energy Services’ high scorer was Itch & Scratch with a 44.75. Their other two team members, Standoff and Full Throttle, were 43.75. Big Machine, who had some team wins in 2008, had to settle for last after Party Time earned a 41.25 (too much partying the night before?) and teammates The Bug (43.25) and What I Say (43.5) couldn’t make up the difference.
