Anaheim, Calif. Feb. 20-21 The crowds at the Honda Center (formerly the Arrowhead Pond) are used to seeing excitement—not only does the arena play host to some of the biggest concerts in the country, it is also home to the NHL's Ducks. But on Feb. 20-21 those Ducks took flight—replaced by some of best bucking bulls in the world. Orange County was stop No. 10 for the PBR's Built Ford Tough Series and stop No. 2 for the PBR Bull Team Challenge. Three teams competed in Anaheim, but it was the team of Julio Moreno/Simpson and Dennis who won $10,000 for their bulls' combined score of 130.75. West Coast Connection's Charlie Bullware (Moreno/Chadwick) was the high-scoring team bull with 45.25. Troubadour (Moreno) earned a 45 and Tight Whitey (Simpson and Dennis) received a 40.5. With less travel time, odds were in favor of one of the two West Coast teams winning, rather than Jeff Robinson's East Coast contenders. But Robinson's pen did take second, a point and a half behind the winner for $5,000. SoulJa Boy (Priest Creek Ranch) was 43.75. Major Payne (Robinson/Broken N-N/Skyhawk/Red Knection) was 43.5 and Mac-Nett's Hydroblast (Robinson/Broken N-N/ Cathy & Jason McNeely) was 42. But like, Simpson, Robinson felt the bulls didn't perform as well as they typically do. “I feel like our bulls were terrible and I feel very fortunate to win anything,” said a brutally honest Robinson. “We're 2,500 miles from home and most of these bulls haven't been bucked since the first of the year and are a little stale.” Californian Judd Leffew's bulls also didn't perform as well as expected, and a re-ride on a team bull sank any hopes for Leffew finishing in the money. Champion Bucking Bulls was third with 109 after Tandy Time earned just 28 points and his cowboy got a reride. Pick a Spot was 42.75 and Mr. Mean was 38.25.
